Highly Effective Homemade Toothpaste to Treat Superficial Cavities

The cavity is one of the most common problems of the teeth, affecting many people, regardless of the age. Before the actual cavities appear, bacteria, together with the food residues and saliva will form the dental plaque. When we are consuming food or beverages high in carbohydrates, the bacteria in the plaque will transform the carbohydrates in energy and this is how the acids are produced. In time, these acids will destroy the dental layers and the cavities will be formed.

Homemade toothpaste to get rid of cavities

If you have early stage cavities there is no need to visit the dentist and go through a long, expensive and painful process. The only thing you need to do is prepare a homemade toothpaste with natural ingredients. The anti-cavities toothpaste you can find in stores is full of harmful ingredients like triclosan, a chemical substance associated with hormonal imbalance, infertility, cancer and muscle disorders. Instead, you can use these simple ingredients and prepare your own anti-cavities toothpaste:

• Two spoons coconut oil
• One teaspoon turmeric powder
• Three drops sage essential oil

Simply mic the three ingredients together in a glass bowl. Transfer the toothpaste in a small glass jar with a lid and keep it in a cool place. The quantity is enough for 7 days if you use it two times a day.
Why it works? Coconut oil has remarkable antibacterial properties, therefore will reduce the bacteria causing the cavities.

Turmeric has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties, reducing the inflammatory process in the gums. My recommendation is to treat the cavities as soon as possible, in order to avoid bigger problems. If your teeth are affected by untreated cavities, you can end up by having more serious problems leading to intense pain, and a treatment that can mean a long and expensive process. Although the cavities are a common problem, this affection is easy to prevent if you maintain a good oral hygiene.
