Spider veins are superficial dilatations of small blood vessels – venules and capillaries – located intradermal or subdermal. There are two types of spider veins: telangiectasia (intradermal, with a diameter of 1 mm or more) and cross-linked veins (subdermal, with a diameter of 3 mm or more). Spider veins, which may be most commonly found in the lower limbs or face, come as fine lines, having a spider-like (hence the name) or vascular appearance. The most frequent areas affected by spider veins are the external side of the thighs and calves. The color varies according to their depth. Spider veins have a rather big potential for expansion, especially in the presence of favorable factors. There are many causes for spider veins. On one hand, the genetic predisposition and the hormonal pathology, and on the other hand, the action of some precipitating factors.
Genetic predisposition is the cause in about 99% of cases, along with associated hormonal pathology, therefore women are more affected than men. The female hormones tend to relax the blood vessels’ walls, so the use of oral contraceptives, pregnancy and menopause, increase the risk of having spider veins. In addition to these factors, standing for a long period of time, excessive sun exposure, alcohol consumption, and smoking are also considered reasons for spider veins. Overweight people with an unbalanced diet are also prone to spider veins. Some studies indicate that waxing, hot baths and sauna are predisposing factors for spider veins. Spider veins, due to the absence of characteristic subjective symptoms, are more of an aesthetic problem rather than a health condition.

• Half cup aloe vera gel
• Apple cider vinegar
Put the carrot and aloe vera in the blender and stir for one minute. Add apple cider vinegar in the blender and mix until you get a creamy texture. Use the lotion twice daily, morning and evening. Wait for half hour and then rinse the lotion with warm water.
