Yellow nails can be a sign of fungal infection, but most cases are caused by repeated use of nail polish. It must be said that no matter how expensive they are, all kinds of nail polish will give the yellowish hue that will stain your toenails.

First, take a break on using nail polish and give your nail time to recover. In parallel, follow the steps below:

1. Take a soft texture file and rub each nail in order to remove stains.

2. Put in a bowl a cup of hot water in which you dissolved 4 tablespoons of baking soda and lemon juice.

3. Soak your nails in this solution for 2 minutes. If yellow stains persist, add 2 tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide and keep your nails another 2 minutes in this mixture.

This treatment is recommended only if your nails are stained because of nail polish. If you think behind the problem lies an infection, go to a dermatologist for a checkup.
